Tub Chair

Created as part of an MDes furniture design project to take a found or bought object and transform it into a usable piece of furniture.

This style of red plastic tub is familiar to most Hong Kong Chinese people and is commonly found in the back bathroom or store cupboard of most HK homes. Red rubber plungers with wooden handles are also a 'feature' of old Hong Kong homes, as are "Good Morning" towels.

The kung fu shoes are mine.

This chair was on display at the 100% Design Exhibition at the London Design Festival 2008 in Earls Court (stall Q93)!
